Connecting your advertising platforms to Zaplane Insights is the first step to unlocking AI-powered campaign optimization. Once connected, our system begins analyzing your campaigns 24/7, identifying opportunities to improve performance, reduce wasted spend, and increase ROI.

Before You Begin
Required Access Levels
- • Google Ads: Standard or Admin access to the account
- • Meta: Admin access to the Business Manager or Ad Account
- • Amazon: Campaign Manager or Account Manager permissions
- • LinkedIn: Account Manager or Campaign Manager role
- • TikTok: Admin or Operator access to the Ad Account
Important Note About Permissions
Zaplane requires read and write access to your advertising accounts to make automated optimizations. Read-only access will allow you to view data but not enable AI automation. You can always revoke access from your platform's settings at any time.
How to Connect a Platform
Navigate to Platform Connections
From your Zaplane dashboard, you can connect platforms in two ways:
Option A: From Dashboard
- Click the "Connect Platform" button in the top-right corner
- Or click any "+ Add Platform" card on your dashboard
Option B: From Settings
- Click your profile picture in the top-right
- Select "Settings" from the dropdown
- Navigate to "Integrations" tab
- Click "Add New Platform"
Choose Your Platform
Select the advertising platform you want to connect. Each platform card shows:

Connect the platform where you spend the most first. This allows Zaplane to identify the biggest optimization opportunities and demonstrate value quickly.
Authorize Zaplane Access
After clicking "Connect", you'll be redirected to the platform's authorization page. This is a secure OAuth 2.0 flow managed by the platform itself (not Zaplane).
What Happens During OAuth:
You're redirected to the platform (e.g., accounts.google.com for Google Ads)
You log in with your platform credentials (if not already logged in)
You review the permissions Zaplane is requesting
You click "Allow" or "Authorize" to grant access
You're redirected back to Zaplane with a secure access token
Your Credentials Stay Private
Zaplane never sees your username or password. OAuth 2.0 ensures we only receive a temporary access token that you can revoke anytime from your platform's security settings.
Select Accounts to Import
After authorization, you'll see a list of all advertising accounts you have access to on that platform. Choose which accounts to connect to Zaplane.
Account Selection Options:
What Gets Imported
- All active campaigns and ad groups
- Historical performance data (past 90 days)
- Budget and bid settings
- Targeting configurations
- Conversion tracking setup
Initial Data Sync
Zaplane will begin importing your campaign data immediately. The initial sync typically takes:
Small Accounts
2-5 min
1-50 campaigns
Medium Accounts
5-15 min
50-200 campaigns
Large Accounts
15-30 min
200-1000 campaigns
Enterprise Accounts
30-60 min
1000+ campaigns
During the initial sync:
Campaign structures are mapped
Historical data is analyzed
Performance baselines are established
AI models begin learning your patterns
You can close this page! The sync continues in the background. You'll receive an email when it's complete and your first AI recommendations are ready.
What Happens After Connection?
Immediate (0-15 minutes)
- • Your campaigns appear in the dashboard
- • Real-time monitoring begins
- • Initial data analysis starts
Within 1 Hour
- • First AI recommendations appear in AI Hub
- • Performance benchmarks established
- • Anomaly detection activated
Within 24 Hours
- • Full historical analysis complete
- • Predictive models trained on your data
- • Ready for automated optimizations
- • Comprehensive performance reports available
Common Connection Issues
"Access Denied" Error
This usually means you don't have sufficient permissions on the advertising account.
Solutions:
- Contact your account administrator to upgrade your permissions
- Ensure you have "Standard" or "Admin" access (not "Read-only")
- Try connecting a different account where you have full access
Connection Times Out
The OAuth process didn't complete within the expected timeframe.
Solutions:
- Check your internet connection is stable
- Try again using a different browser (Chrome or Firefox recommended)
- Disable browser extensions that might block OAuth popups
- Clear your browser cache and cookies, then retry
"Invalid Redirect URI" Error
This is a configuration issue on our end (very rare).
Solutions:
- Contact our support team immediately at support@zaplane.io
- Include the platform you're trying to connect and the full error message
- We'll resolve this within 1 hour during business hours
No Accounts Showing After Authorization
The platform authenticated successfully, but no accounts appeared in the selection list.
Possible Causes:
- You don't have any active advertising accounts on that platform
- Your accounts are disabled or suspended
- You logged in with the wrong account during OAuth
- The platform's API is temporarily unavailable (rare)

View All Connected Platforms
Go to Settings → Integrations to see all your connected platforms, when they were connected, and their current sync status.
Reconnect a Platform
Sometimes platforms require reauthorization (typically every 60-90 days for security). If you see a "Reconnect" notification:
- Click the "Reconnect" button
- You'll be redirected to the platform's OAuth page
- Authorize again (same process as initial connection)
- Your data and settings remain intact
Disconnect a Platform
If you need to remove a platform connection:
Warning: Disconnecting stops all monitoring and AI recommendations for that platform. Historical data will be preserved but no longer updated.
- Go to Settings → Integrations
- Find the platform you want to disconnect
- Click the "••• More" button
- Select "Disconnect"
- Confirm your choice
Add More Accounts from Same Platform
You can connect multiple accounts from the same platform (for example, 5 different Google Ads accounts):
- Go to Settings → Integrations
- Find the already-connected platform
- Click "Add More Accounts"
- Follow the same authorization process
- Select the additional accounts to import
