Complete guide to managing your Zaplane Insights subscription, understanding billing, upgrading or downgrading plans, and handling payment issues.
Subscription Plans Overview
Zaplane Insights offers three subscription tiers designed to scale with your business. All plans include access to our core AI optimization engine, but differ in automation frequency, connected platforms, team members, and advanced features like cross-platform optimization and API access.
Every new account starts with a 14-day free trial that includes full access to Professional tier features. During your trial, you can connect platforms, receive AI recommendations, and experience the platform risk-free. No credit card is required to start your trial.

Annual Billing Saves 10%
All plans are available with annual billing at a 10% discount. For example, Professional annual is $8,605/year instead of $8,764 when paid monthly ($797 × 12).
How Billing Works
Payment Methods
We accept all major credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover) and ACH bank transfers for annual plans. All payments are processed securely through Stripe, our payment processor. We never store your full credit card details on our servers.
Billing Cycle
Monthly plans: Billed on the same day each month (e.g., if you subscribe on January 15th, subsequent charges occur on the 15th of each month).
Annual plans: Billed once per year on your subscription anniversary. You'll receive email reminders 30 days and 7 days before renewal.
Automatic Renewal
All subscriptions auto-renew to prevent service interruption. You can cancel anytime from Settings → Billing, and you'll retain access through the end of your paid period. No refunds are provided for partial months, but you can downgrade at renewal instead of canceling.
Upgrading Your Plan
Need more platforms, higher ad spend limits, or faster AI optimization? Upgrading is instant and prorated:
Go to Settings → Billing → Change Plan
Select your new plan. You'll see a preview of the prorated charge before confirming.
Pay the Prorated Difference
You're charged immediately for the difference between plans, prorated for the remaining days in your billing cycle. For example, upgrading from Starter ($397/mo) to Professional ($797/mo) with 15 days left in your cycle costs approximately $200 ($400 difference ÷ 30 days × 15 days).
New Features Activate Instantly
Your new plan limits and features are available immediately. Connect additional platforms, invite more team members, or enable cross-platform optimization right away.
💡 Smart Upgrade Tip: If you're close to your billing renewal date (within 5 days), consider waiting until renewal to avoid prorated charges. The system will prompt you if this applies.
Downgrading Your Plan
Downgrading works differently to prevent immediate access loss. Your downgrade takes effect at the end of your current billing cycle:
Important: Data Limits Apply Immediately
If you downgrade from Professional to Starter, your new plan allows only 2 connected platforms and 2 team members. You must disconnect extra platforms or remove team members before your next billing date to avoid service interruption. We'll send reminder emails starting 7 days before renewal.
What Happens to My Data?
Historical campaign data and reports remain accessible even after downgrading. However, features exclusive to higher tiers (like cross-platform optimization or white-label reports) become unavailable. AI optimization frequency also reduces to match your new plan.
Can I Upgrade Again Later?
Yes! Upgrade anytime without penalty. Your previous settings, connections, and preferences are retained, so scaling back up is seamless.
Managing Your Payment Method
Updating Your Card
Go to Settings → Billing → Payment Method. Click "Update Card" to enter new payment details. Changes take effect immediately and apply to your next billing cycle.
Tip: Update your payment method before your card expires to avoid service interruption. We'll email you 30 days before your card's expiration date.
Billing Invoices & Receipts
All invoices are available in Settings → Billing → Invoice History. Each invoice can be downloaded as a PDF for accounting purposes. Invoices include your workspace name, payment amount, billing period, and itemized charges.
Updating Billing Information
Need to change your billing email, company name, or tax ID? Go to Settings → Billing → Billing Information. Updates apply to future invoices only (historical invoices cannot be modified for compliance reasons).
Common Billing Issues
Payment Failed
If your payment fails, we'll retry automatically 3 times over 7 days. You'll receive email notifications after each failed attempt with instructions to update your payment method.
Grace Period: Your account remains active during the retry period. If all retries fail, your account is suspended (read-only access) until payment is received.
Suspended Account
If payment fails for 14+ days, your account enters suspended status. You can still log in and view historical data, but AI optimization stops, and you cannot make changes to campaigns. Update your payment method to reactivate immediately.
Billing Disputes
See a charge you don't recognize? Contact support at billing@zaplane.io with your invoice number. We'll investigate within 1 business day. For valid disputes, we issue refunds within 5-7 business days.
Refund Policy
We offer refunds for technical issues that prevent you from using the platform (verified service outages, critical bugs). Refunds are prorated based on downtime. We do not refund for change of mind or underutilization—consider downgrading at renewal instead.
